Hookerton man arrested in weekend shooting

HOOKERTON, N.C. (WNCT) – A man is arrested and charged after a weekend shooting in Greene County.

27-year-old Roderick Freeman is accused of shooting another man at the Family Dollar on Sunday morning in Hookerton.

The victim was able to identify Freeman and deputies found him during a traffic stop.

Freeman is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.

He’s out on bond and will be back in court on August 5.

The victim in the case was treated and released from the hospital.
