Swimmer rescued, airlifted to Vidant, in Beaufort Co.

PAMLICO BEACH, N.C. (WNCT) – Beaufort County emergency crews responded to the Pamlico Beach area in Beaufort County early Saturday evening after a man jumped in the river and had to be rescued.

EMS Director John Flemming and Chief Deputy Charlie Rose said a group was having a gathering in the Pamlico Beach area.

Rose said the man who was rescued had to have CPR performed on him. He was later flown from the scene to Vidant Medical Center, where his condition is still unknown.
