Coples hosts Celebrity Basketball Tournament as part of Community Weekend

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Los Angeles Rams defensive end Quinton Coples hosted a celebrity basketball tournament on Saturday as part of his Community Weekend in Kinston.

It’s just one of 8 free events for the Kinston community, all open to the public.

Coples made a name for himself at Kinston High School, before taking his playing career to the University of North Carolina.

From Chapel Hill, Coples was drafted in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft to the New York Jets.

He’s since continued his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins, and in March was signed to two-year deal with the L.A. Rams.

Coples will host a Peace Rally at Southeast Elementary on Sunday followed by a Community cookout.
