FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities in Cumberland County have released the names of a man and woman found shot to death in a home in Fayetteville.
Sheriff’s spokesman Sean Swain said in a news release that a child called 911 and deputies went to a home Wednesday evening and found the body of 32-year-old Jessica Ann Parker, who had been shot. Investigators say her boyfriend, 35-year-old Sherrell McNeill, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Deputies say the woman’s infant son was also shot and was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition.
Two other children, ages 7 and 8, have been taken into protective custody.
Swain says investigators have determined that McNeill and Parker had been arguing before he shot Parker and her infant son before shooting himself.
