SNOW HILL, N.C. (WNCT) – Dozens of farmers in the area are working despite the high heat.
They’re more worried about the animals they work with than about themselves.
While the heat is a pain for those who work on farms, triple-digit temperatures are even worse for the livestock.
“When it’s really hot outside, it’s kind of tough for the cows,” said Brandon Johnson, of Simply Natural Creamery.
Fans and plenty of cool liquids keep the cows comfortable this time of year.
“A lot of the cows are pregnant, so they’re carrying a baby as well. So, it’s important to keep them good and cool,” Johnson continued.
So, the next time you’re braving the elements, think about the herd.
