Pets likely to run away on July 4th than any other holiday

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – If you’re heading to the fireworks Monday evening, be sure to leave your furry friends at home.

Animal care experts say pets are more likely to run away on July 4th than any other holiday because they are startled by fireworks.

If your pet becomes lost, Lenoir County SPCA said to put your clothes outside your home with some water.

Pets are able to sniff their way back. Professionals recommend posting on Facebook groups with your pets picture.
