KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – A state representative is on the other side of the law, charged with DWI.

Kinston Police Department officers arrested George Washington Graham Sunday night shortly before 8 p.m. Officers pulled him over at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and East Lenoir Avenue.

The 67-year-old represents District 12, which covers Craven, Greene, and Lenoir Counties.

Police said he paid his $500 bond. Graham’s next court appearance is September 13th.
