Local convenience stores seeing uptick in lottery sales

ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. (WNCT) – With the Mega Millions lottery jackpot sitting at $415 million, local convenience stores along the Crystal Coast said business has been good.

Some reported seeing a lot of tourists in town for the 4th of July come to try their luck.

Michael Wall, visiting the coast from Elm City, said it doesn’t matter where you buy the ticket, as long as it is a winner, “If I stop at a store I’ll buy a dollar ticket especially when it’s up there at $400 something million like it is tonight. You can’t win if you don’t play.”

If you didn’t win the Friday drawing, there is a Powerball drawing again on Saturday.
