Goldsboro PD respond to second shooting in 12 hours

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – According to Goldsboro Police, officers detained a suspect in a shooting on North Carolina Street around 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Police noticed an African-American running from the scene who brandished a handgun. That’s when officers were able to take him into custody without incident.

The victim, 36-year-old Albert Lee Williams III, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital. He is listed in stable condition.

Travis Kinsey, 27, was identified as the suspect and charged with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm.

The shooting is not connected to the homicide on Holly Street early-Friday morning.
