One person injured in EF-0 tornado near Bogue

BOGUE, NC (WNCT) – The US National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC said an EF-0 tornado with estimated winds of 65mph in Bogue, North Carolina touched down around 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

One person was reported injured as a result of the EF-0 tornado. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.

Minor to moderate damage to yard furniture, boats, and mobile homes was reported.

The tornado reportedly touched down near the intersection of Red Barn Rd and Everette Ct. It then traveled into the Goose Creek RV and Camping Resort.

Several boats on trailers were moved into a jack knife position. Many boats received moderate damage.

Several mobile homes had minor damage to roofing material, siding, and skirting, while two mobile homes had significant damage to their porch awnings, which were lifted and tossed from 30ft to over a block away.

An EF-0 has wind speeds of 65-85 miles per hour. This particular tornado had estimated winds at 65 mph.
