Piney Green Road in Onslow County closed this weekend

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The intersection of Piney Green Road and Old 30 Road will be closed this weekend due to intersection safety improvements, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The closure will begin at 6 a.m., Saturday and end 10 p.m., Sunday. Crews plan to widen and realign the intersection.

Traffic will get detoured to Cornell Drive and Victoria Road. Motorists should expect possible delays and look for alternate routes.

In a previous story by 9 On Your Side’s Jacqueline Matter, the project was supposed to be done by April, but will now look to be completed in November.
