Kinston home struck by gunfire early Wednesday morning

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Police are investigating after a home was struck by gunfire early Wednesday morning.

It happened on the 800 block of Dixon Street in Kinston.

Officers arriving at the scene just before 1 a.m. found a home struck by gunfire. Several shell casings were recovered from the roadway in front of the home. Fortunately, no one was there at the time of the incident. Witnesses reported 6 to 8 shots were heard and a white Ford Escape was seen headed from the scene west on Dixon St. before turning south on Charlotte Ave.
