RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCT) – Education and the economy were top-talking points for Hillary Clinton at the State Fairgrounds Wednesday with an emphasis on family.
The house was packed with people from across the state. Many were looking for different answers, but all agree Clinton is the answer for the White House. Clinton said she plans to put families first with her goals and that she will expand on that over the course of the election.
9 On Your Side caught up with some people who say they are excited Clinton stopped in North Carolina. Hours before the event, hundreds of people lined up outside the venue.
When asked why they attended, they all had a different answer.
Dozens of people lined the State Fairgrounds to hear Clinton speak Wednesday. Charlie Davis, Beaufort County native, said he wanted to hear Clinton in person. The biggest topic on his mind is education.
“As a college student, I have debt I won’t and it’s kind of ridiculous that you go to school for four years and you spend the next forty years paying it off,” said Davis.
He isn’t the only one concerned about education. Aidan Hennessy, a student, said education is something he’s worried about as well.
“As a student, I am recognizing that in these days debt is so high and Hillary Clinton has previously voted to try to reduce college debt,” Hennessy said.
While lots of people were here for the rally, dozens more had another mission in mind. Merchandise was also flying off the hooks.
The people who sell it say they do the same thing at various rallies all over the country.
