Trucking firm in Charlotte closing, laying off 124 workers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A transportation company is closing its Charlotte facility and will lay off 124 workers.

The Charlotte Observer reported ( that Ryder Integrated Logistics expects to close Aug. 28.

Ryder filed a statement required under federal law when planning a plant closure or significant layoffs.

The company’s website says that Ryder’s Charlotte location provides transportation for General Motors’ service parts operation.
