PCSO investigation reveals fireworks resulted in shots fired call

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the shots fired call in an occupied dwelling.

As first reported by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, a caller said she heard gunshots and then heard something hit the side of her home.

After further investigation, deputies found that nearby fireworks were set off. Other neighbors confirmed fireworks were set off, not gunshots.

Investigators say it happened on the 1400 block of Jasper Lee Court in Greenville just before 10 o’clock.

Deputies say while people were inside the home, no one was hurt.
