Greenville’s first Carolina BBQ Festival attracts hundreds to area

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – The first Carolina BBQ Festival in Greenville kicked off Saturday afternoon, with dozens of vendors and free music.

Attendees were able to sample BBQ, which was judged in the festival competition. Bounce rides, vendors and live music and performances took place all day, and other concessions, including hot dogs, hamburgers, and shrimp were for sale.

Many adults and kids said they had a blast dancing to the band at the Town Common.

“It’s better than sitting at home, because I am doing lots of stuff,” said Jordan Summers.

“It definitely gets you out of the house from your normal routine and cleaning up the house or doing laundry or sitting in there watching TV,” said festival attendee, Kym Jefferson. “It gets you out and meeting new people and friends.”

The festival took place from 11a.m. – 9 a.m. Saturday, June 18th.
