ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. (WNCT) – One local company is doing its part to give back to the community, specifically those with handicaps.
Realty World First Coast Realty hopes to raise nearly $8,000 for beach access mats in Atlantic Beach and Beaufort. They gave away free hot dog meals Friday to raise money. The mats make the beach easily accessible with a stable and portable roll-out option.
Harlan Bartolini says the fundraiser will help many people like him.
“I can’t really get on the sand and I can’t really travel around in this thing. It’s just not sand accessible, doesn’t cooperate,” said Bartolini, who suffers from Spina bifida.
“To raise money for these beach access mats for handicapped individuals, for families that have strollers to get down on to the beach so it makes it easier to get out there,” said Christine Chadwick, with Realty World First Coast Realty.
The fundraiser has raised nearly $2,000.
