Police: Washington woman tries to buy groceries with counterfeit money

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) –  A Washington woman faces charges after trying to buy groceries with a counterfeit money.

The Washington Police Department charged 53-year-old Patricia Langley on Tuesday.

Langley faces multiple charges for possessing counterfeit money. The charges stem from Langley’s attempt to buy groceries with a counterfeit $100 bill.

Police say she was taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center and given a $2,000 bond.
