Accident causes road closure and cuts power to traffic signals in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – A traffic accident shuts down a Goldsboro road and cuts power to some traffic signals.

It happened on the 300 block of North Spence Avenue Thursday morning.

The Goldsboro Police Department says during the accident a light pole and power lines were damaged. As a result, Spence Avenue is closed to traffic between Ash Street and Cashwell Drive.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and be cautious at intersections without operating traffic signals.

Police say it will take power crews several hours to replace the pole and restore power to the area.
