Late night fire displaces a family of four in Pitt County

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A family of four is without a home after a fire damaged their Pitt County home on Wednesday night.

It happened around 10 o’clock on the 3800 block of Old Pactolus Road in Greenville.

When firefighters arrived at the home, they found flames and smoke coming from the roof.

Four people were inside at the time  but were able to get out safely with the help of a Pitt County Sheriff’s deputy.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office said the home is a total loss.
