Summer Reading Triathlon kicks off in Greenville

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – Barnes and Noble kicked off its special Summer Reading Triathlon Saturday morning in Greenville. The program encourages young children to drop the remote control and pick up a book.

To get a free book, young readers must read three books and answer questions in their summer reading journal by September 6th.

Barnes and Noble employee, Charles Vincent Faulkner, said it’s important to get kids reading at a young age, “Introducing kids to literature is one of the best things I can do. “I, myself, as a kid, loved to read, so if I can pass that on to other kids in this generation, absolutely, I would love to do that.”
