Thunderbirds cancel upcoming performance after mishap

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The United States Air Force Thunderbirds have cancelled their upcoming performance at Kirtland Air Force Base’s air show this weekend.

The cancellation comes following the incident of a Thunderbird jet crashing south of Colorado Springs on Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the remaining Air Show performers will continue as scheduled  on June 4th and 5th with 17 flying and ground demonstrations. There will also be 39 static displays of vintage and cutting edge military and civilian aircraft.
