House Speaker Tim Moore speaks about HB2 and Charlotte

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – House Speaker Tim Moore has been very vocal on where he stands on House Bill 2.

He was in the East Thursday night making an appearance at a political fundraiser that was held at Olivia’s in Kinston.

Dozens of supporters showed up to meet and greet with statewide Republican council of state and judicial candidates.

Speaker Moore took the time out to speak with 9 On Your Side about the ongoing battle over HB2. He says city officials in Charlotte could determine what happens next with the bill.

“We would expect the city of Charlotte to make some moves that the decision that they did was probably an error. I think that would give the General Assembly an opportunity to then go back and take a look and perhaps make some tweaks,” said Moore.

House Majority Whip, John Bell, and State Senator Louis Pate were also in attendance.
