Meth lab busted in Hatteras Island campground

HATTERAS ISLAND, N.C. (WNCT)- The Dare County Narcotics Task Force reports they’ve busted a meth lab at a Hatteras Island campground.

On May 17, the task force was conducting an investigation, which led to the discovery of a one-pot meth production lab, along with the precursor chemicals to produce more meth in the future.

The following were charged in connection with the case:

4 counts Felony Possess / Distribute of Methamphetamine Precursors
Felony Manufacturing Methamphetamine

Messina Moreland, Fredericktown, OH
Messina Moreland, Fredericktown, OH

35 years old
$12,000 bond
4 counts Felony Possess / Distribute of Methamphetamine Precursors
Felony Manufacturing Methamphetamine

Dare County Narcotics Task Force is made up of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, Nags Head Police Department, Kill Devil Hills Police Department, Kitty Hawk Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.
