Pitt Community College opens play in NJCAA Eastern District Championships Friday

WINTERVILLE, NC (WNCT) – Region X baseball champion Pitt Community College will open play in the NJCAA Eastern District tournament on Friday afternoon in Bel Air, Maryland.

The Bulldogs are the number 2 seed in the tournament. Pitt plays third seed Monroe College in the opening game of the tournament on Friday at 2pm.

Top seed and host Harford Community College meets Region X regular season champion Spartanburg Methodist in the second game on Friday.

Friday’s winners then meet on Saturday in the double elimination format.

Pitt lost its opening game in the Region X tournament but then won six games in a row to take home that title and advance to the Eastern District tournament with a shot at the National Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.
