JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – High school seniors in Onslow County got a taste of the job hunt Tuesday.
The first-ever Onslow County student job fair featured over 32 employers, all based around the area.
All employers present were searching for high school graduates, which is what dozens of the students will be turning into in the coming weeks.
One student says she hopes her classmates will embrace this networking opportunity.
“I came out today to get more experience with the employers in our community and to hopefully get a job with one of our employers in Jacksonville,” said Emily Prestley, a senior at Southwest High School.
A spokeswoman for Onslow County Schools said they made sure students were properly prepared before the job fair. They offered workshops on resumes, clothing, and held on the spot interviews.
