Man, daughter arrested in fatal High Point hit-and-run

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — A man and his daughter face charges after their vehicle hit and killed a bicyclist in High Point.

High Point police tell media outlets that 41-year-old Toby Pegram and 23-year-old Keyanna Pegram were arrested following an incident Saturday morning in East High Point. Toby Pegram has been charged with felony hit and run with personal injury and driving while license revoked. Keyanna Pegram was charged with filing a false police report.

Police say the Pegrams were in the first of two vehicles that hit 40-year-old bicyclist Marcus McCoy, who later died at a hospital. Toby Pegram was driving and Keyanna Pegram was a passenger.

Police say that following the crash, Keyanna Pegram took the vehicle back to the scene and said she was the driver in order to protect her father.

It’s unclear if the Pegrams have attorneys.
