Woman charged in Rowan County stabbing death

WOODLEAF, N.C. (AP) — Rowan County sheriff’s deputies say a woman has been arrested in the stabbing death of a man at a mobile home in Woodleaf.

Deputies told local media outlets that 25-year-old Satonia Yvette Gray of Mocksville has been charged with murder.

Deputies were called early Tuesday and found 56-year-old Barry Dean Hepler on the living room floor of his father’s home. They say he had been stabbed several times.

Deputies said Gray was arrested without incident at an apartment complex in Mocksville. She was to appear in court Wednesday morning. It was not known if she has an attorney.

Investigators said Gray occasionally lived in Hepler’s home but there was no romantic relationship between them. Deputies said the stabbing followed an argument.
