Volunteers give back at Greenville food bank

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – On National Stamp out Hunger Day dozens of high school students, Girl Scouts, and kids from the Little Willie Center spent their morning giving back to others at the Eastern North Carolina Food Bank.

Their goal was to fill the bag with clean sweet potatoes and give them to someone in need.

Parents of the Girl Scouts in attendance said it’s important to teach kids that everyone isn’t as lucky as them.

Junior Stefani Mora said it’s great to give back to those who need it most, “It’s important that they get these foods, that they know that there is a safe place to get them from, and you won’t get any bad ones because we are hand picking them out.”
