Greensboro woman indicted for murder in death of boyfriend

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — A Guilford County woman initially charged with unintentionally running over her boyfriend has now been indicted on a first-degree murder charge.

The Greensboro News and Record reports ( that last week, a grand jury indicted 26-year-old Liana Aman on several charges, including first-degree murder.

Aman is accused of killing her boyfriend, 20-year-old William Michael Auzins, in March 2015. Highway Patrol troopers said Aman let Auzins out of her car at an intersection, drove around and back toward Auzins before steering off the roadway and hitting a culvert before striking her boyfriend.

Auzins died the next day.

Police, attorneys and a witness say the couple fought before Auzins’s death.

Aman’s attorney, Mark Cummings, says Aman didn’t mean to hit Auzins.

In October prosecutor Victoria Edmisten said there was enough evidence to prove the death wasn’t an accident.
