WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Beaufort County’s courthouse is in need of some repairs.
Superior Court Clerk Marty Paramore took his concerns to the county commissioners’ meeting in hopes of getting some help. He says multiple ceilings, a torn roof, and bathrooms need upgrades. Paramore also notes the courthouse is for everyone and people shouldn’t have to see it look like this.
“I think when people report for jury duty or come to the courthouse for any reason, they shouldn’t have to look around and feel like they’re ashamed of their courthouse,” said Paramore.
Commissioners say upgrades are coming to the courthouse. 9 On Your Side spoke to commissioner Gary Brinn who says if Paramore’s concerns are not brought up at the next meeting, he’ll say something.
