Greenville City Council passes motion for Copper Beech traffic signal

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – City leaders are continuing to look into pedestrian safety issues.

The city council passed a motion Monday night, which would create a traffic signal between Copper Beech and 33 East.

The move follows a petition by an ECU student, which gained the attention of the city’s mayor last week. about a dangerous intersection created by an ECU student gets the attention of Greenville’s mayor.

Mayor Allen Thomas responded on his Facebook page in which he wrote that he was committed to funding and contacted NCDOT about the matter.

They’ll have to wait on approval from NCDOT and the federal government.
