Camp Lejeune holds educational expo for those looking to expand their education

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (WNCT) – Dozens of Camp Lejeune Marines and their families looked to fulfill opportunities after their military careers at Tuesday’s
Educational Expo.

Attendees met with college representatives from across the country.

Marines can utilize their post-9/11 GI Bill, ensuring servicemen and women can get a college education after their time in the service.

One veteran WNCT spoke with says his GI bill helped him land his job as Director of Admissions at the New York Film Academy. He urges service members to utilize their benefits to their full potential.

“Come to your education center, talk to the people, use your resources, and learn what you can do to maximize those entitlements and successfully transition out of the Marine Corps when the time comes,” said Christopher Paparis.

Marines were also able to gather resources on vocational opportunities as well.
