GPD investigating early morning stabbing

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – There are new details about a 27-year-old man that was stabbed in Greenville.

Investigators said it happened just after three Sunday morning on the corner of First and Meade streets.

Greenville police said details of the assault are limited due to multiple accounts from the victim on what happened.

Bryce Getfinger says his neighbor called 911 after the victim showed up at his door asking for help.

“He opened up the door and the guy was covered in blood from head to toe and we just sat him down and got him some paper towels for his head,” said Getfinger.

Another neighbor, Tyler Waddell, can’t believe that something like this could happen right in front of his house.

“[That] something [like] that could happen right here right in front of our house, you know, is just scary,” said Waddell.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Greenville Police. There’s an award for information that leads to an arrest.
