4 charged after University Suites armed robbery, assault

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Four men are facing armed robbery and assault charges after an incident at University Suites.

Greenville Police said it all started just after 1 a.m. Tuesday morning when their officers responded to a reported fight at University Suites Drive.  When they arrived at the scene, they found a man, who had been assaulted by four others. He told officers they four men robbed him of his cell phone and wallet before they fled the scene. Fortunately, he was uninjured and didn’t require any medical attention.

A short time later GPD officers stopped a vehicle matching a suspect vehicle description near the intersection of Charles Boulevard and 14th Street. All four occupants fled the car, but were apprehended, with the assistance of ECU Police, on the ECU Campus near the Rivers Building. All four were taken to the Greenville Police Department for questioning. They’re identified as:

  • Jaloni Shameace Wallace, of Williamston
  • Taquan Ishmauel Hardison, of Greenville
  • Monterius Clark, of Greenville
  • Diquavia Knight, of Greenville

Each of them were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault inflicting serious injury, conspiracy, and resist/delay/obstruct an officer. They were placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under $250,000 secured bonds.
