Three arrested in Kinston for gun possession

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – The Kinston Department of Public Safety arrested three men for gun possession, which consisted of sawed-off rifles.

Hyquil Jones, Jaquil Koonce, and Arventino Lawson were all placed in a Lenoir County facility under a secured bond.

When officers arrived at the 16 building in Carver Court, the three men were there, who are known to be associated with street gang activity.

The suspects fled the scene immediately. Jones was arrested and charged after a brief foot chase. He was charged with resisting a public officer, as well as second-degree trespassing.

Lawson and Koonce are validated gang members.
