UPDATE: Charges filed after woman hit by a car in New Bern

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT)- New Bern Police file charges in a Wednesday crash, where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Neuse Blvd and S. Glenburnie Rd.

Dorothy Borden, 44, of Trent Woods, walked into the path of Gina Hawley, 62, of New Bern, and was transported to Carolina East Medical Center with minor injuries.

Borden was cited and released for Impeding Traffic by not Crossing at a Walkway. Hawley was cited for not having an operators license.


NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – The New Bern Police Department started investigating a pedestrian accident on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 12:47 PM at the intersection of Neuse Boulevard and Glenburnie Road.

A police spokeswoman said the woman hit was responsive and alert after the accident and was transported to CarolinaEast Medical Center. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

The spokeswoman said the woman was likely responsible and failed to yield to the right of way.

The investigation is ongoing.
