GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Pitt-Greenville Airport Authority hired a new executive director.
Betty Stansbury, current Airport Director at Purdue University Airport in West Lafayette, Indiana, has been hired as the airport’s new executive director.
Stansbury will be replacing the current executive director, Jerry Vickers, who is retiring July 1, 2016.
Stansbury has over 30 years of experience in airport management ranging from small general aviation airports to a large international hub airport. She has a BS in Aviation Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and holds accreditation as an airport executive by the American Association of Airport Executives.
“Our Board advertised the Executive Director position nationally and received 25 applications from a number of superb candidates. Betty was unanimously chosen as the top candidate and will bring a broad range of airport management skills and experience to PGV,” said chairman of the Pitt-Greenville Airport Authority, John Banks.
“I am honored to have been selected as the next Executive Director for the Airport,” said Stansbury. “I look forward to working with the Board, staff and community to guide the airport through the opportunities and challenges ahead; and to grow its contribution to the economic vitality of the region.”
Stansbury will join the airport staff on June 1st.
