JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Another police department in the east is joining the growing list of towns providing safe zones to carry out sales.
Jacksonville Police now offers an internet purchase exchange location in the public parking lot of the police station on Court Street. The area is under constant surveillance and officers say they want citizens to be safe when making transactions through the internet.
One police officer says he’s seen constant traffic at the trading location.
“I’ve seen people meet here exchanging things and it is a nice thing to have, it’s a safer place,” said Sgt. Chris Funcke.
You can also make exchanges in the lobby of the public safety building which is open from 8 AM to midnight.
