Kinston police investigating car crash into house

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Police are investigating a car accident which led to a car crashing into a home.

Sgt. Wells with the Kinston Department of Public Safety said two cars crashed into each other at the intersection of MLK Boulevard and East Washington Avenue. He added that after the vehicles collided, one of them struck the front porch of a home nearby. It’s believed no one was in the house at the time of the incident.

Officers are still working to figure out exactly what caused the accident but they suspect that a driver ran a traffic light.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the driver who struck the porch of the home to Lenoir Memorial with non-life threatening injuries.
