GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A number of veterans walked into the American Legion building Thursday morning hoping to leave with a job opportunity.
NC Works, in collaboration with other organizations, hosted a job fair in Pitt County. Various companies filled the room to talk with prospective hires.
During the first two hours, the job fair was only open to veterans.
Organizers and companies hope the event will give the men and women who serve a job opportunity.
“Veterans do so much for our country and we want to help give back to the veterans who have served our country,” explained Rita Leggett, ECVC.
The general public was allowed to visit the job fair after the veteran’s time was up.
Companies say these events give them an opportunity to meet prospective hires face to face instead of seeing a name on a computer screen.
