SNEADS FERRY, N.C. (WNCT) – Two men in their 20’s died earlier in April due to drug-related scenarios.
Because of those recent deaths, the Sneads Ferry community is asking for help.
They requested a town hall meeting. So, Sheriff Hans Miller scheduled the “Taking Back the Ferry Rally,” where people can voice their concerns.
It starts at 7 p.m. Thursday night at the Salem Baptist Church in Sneads Ferry.
Sheriff Miller said drug abuse in Sneads Ferry has significantly increased and that everyone must get involved to combat the war on drugs.
“If citizens and law enforcement will stand together against this scourge of drug abuse, Onslow County will be better off,” said Sheriff Miller.
The move follows a spike in overdoses in the East, including the two fatal cases in Onslow County.
