Pamlico Co. holds town hall meeting to discuss ongoing drug problem

BAYBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – Over 20 different agencies will meet with folks in Pamlico County Wednesday at the Love Is Not Enough town hall meeting.

The goal is to teach parents about how and where children hide drugs, as well as allow people who may be struggling to come forward to find resources they need.

The director of the only mental health provider in the county says addressing substance abuse in the east is necessary.

“The community will see that we are coming together, rallying together to support our community in the drug use that’s happening down here,” said Stephanie Scott, the Clinical Director at Stillwaters Mental Health Counseling Agency.

Wednesday’s Love Is Not Enough event will be held at the Pamlico County High School auditorium starting at 7.

If you’re unable to attend, Onslow County will hold a town hall at Salem Baptist Church” in Sneads Ferry Thursday.
