Letchworth named City of Greenville’s new communications manager

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The City of Greenville announces a new communications manager and public information officer.

Brock Letchworth, who is currently the spokesperson for Pitt County Schools, will begin with the city on May 2nd. He brings more than a decade of communications experience to the position.

City Manager Barbara Lipscomb made the announcement Tuesday morning.

“Brock was selected for his impressive background, having experience in social media and video production as well as serving as a radio talk show host,” said Lipscomb. “He has also been a reporter for The Daily Reflector.  With his background in communications and community public relations, I believe he will be a wonderful asset for the City of Greenville.”

Letchworth, a Pitt County native, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from East Carolina University in 2002. After reporting for The Daily Reflector, he accepted the position of Director of Public Information for Pitt County Schools in 2013.

“This is a tremendous opportunity. As someone who grew up in this area, I certainly understand what a special place Greenville is and what it means to not just its citizens, but all of Eastern North Carolina. I am really looking forward to showcasing the many outstanding things happening in the city and the wonderful people who make them possible,” said Letchworth.
