Kinston Police investigating motor vehicle collision, shots fired call

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Police are investigating a motor vehicle collision and shots fired call.

It happened Monday night around 10:37 p.m. on the 600 block of Marcella Drive.

Officers arriving on the scene found a four-door Mazda in the front yard of 601 Marcella Dr. The vehicle had struck a telephone pole and chain link fence. Witnesses reported that they heard several gunshots and spotted four or five black males running from the scene. A juvenile male, who had a gash on his forehead, possibly from the motor vehicle collision, was taken into custody and taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital for treatment. A nearby residence was also struck by gunfire, but the lone occupant inside wasn’t injured. The vehicle involved in the incident looked like it was struck by gunfire.
