Local veterinarians warn pet owners during ‘Pet First Aid Awareness Month’

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – April is “Pet First Aid Awareness Month” and many veterinarians in Eastern North Carolina are gearing up for Summer.

Vets say it’s important to keep a close eye on dogs and cats, especially in warmer months. Make sure they have plenty of water if they’re outside, and watch the thermometer.

“When they’re having problems, you have to be very careful that you don’t get yourself injured,” said Dr. Anne Eldridge, a veterinarian.

Vets should always be consulted if an animal is seriously injured.
