JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office issues an alert after a sting of car break-ins in the county.
The Sheriff’s Office says a group of people traveling in the area is targeting cars parked at athletic facilities like baseball parks.
Deputies say the most recent break-ins occurred at Richlands Primary School and in Beulaville.
Investigators say the suspects are stealing wallets and using stolen credit and identification cards to buy items in our state.
Deputies are urging people to keep valuables out of plain site when they exit their cars. Deputies also urge residents to lock valuables in the trunk of the car when possible.
The Sheriff’s Office says one of the suspects attempted to use a stolen ID from eastern North Carolina in Concord.
