GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – The City of Greenville is saying thank you to a teen and three others after they helped get two children out of a burning apartment.
Greenville Fire Rescue is recognizing four people for their efforts during an apartment fire Sunday afternoon. The fire happened on Best Road, and sent eight people to the hospital.
One man said he didn’t help for recognition; he did it because it was the right thing to do.
“You get recognized for something you don’t even want nothing back,” said Christopher Campaniello, recognized for his heroic actions. “You just want to give back to the community and you want to give back to people in the community. You gotta think about it… that’s little kids.”
Greenville Fire Rescue Chief Eric Griffin said he’s proud of how fast the men reacted in the situation.
