Funeral arraignments for Farmville Central student who died during JROTC class

FARMVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Funeral arraignment are now available for a teenager who died suddenly Friday.

The family of 15-year-old Charles “Jackson” Corbett will hold a funeral service Tuesday, April 12th at 2 p.m. at the Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville.

The burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park.

The Farmville Central High School freshman, collapsed and died during his JROTC class at approximately 11 a.m. Friday morning.

A cause of death has yet to be determined.

Paramedics were called to the scene but were unable to revive Corbett. Members of the district’s crisis team are present to provide counseling to students and staff.


Pitt County Schools provided a statement on Corbett’s passing:

“Everyone in the district is deeply saddened by the unfortunate death of a student on the Farmville Central campus today. Our hearts and thoughts are with the student’s family, friends and loved ones as they cope with this loss.”
