SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KXAN) — Two people are dead following a murder-suicide shooting Friday morning at Lackland Air Force Base.
A base spokesman confirmed the incident appeared to be a murder-suicide.

The base is on lockdown after police received calls about a shooting around 8:45 a.m.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene with reports of an active shooter.

San Antonio-area NBC affiliate WOAI reports the bodies were found in Building 147 in the Medina Annex.

All enlisted airmen begin their Air Force careers with basic training at Lackland. There are about 10,000 people living on base.
Named for Brigadier General Frank Lackland, the San Antonio-area base opened in 1941 and quickly became the Air Force’s primary training facility for enlisted airmen.
